About this site

Say It in Korean started as a short-video channel with one rule: take an English phrase somebody actually said out loud, and work out how a Korean would say the same thing. Not the dictionary answer — the answer a friend would give you.

This site is the written half of that. Every phrase page carries the casual form, the polite form, the close alternatives, and audio for each line, because the gap between 김사합니다 and 고마워 is the kind of thing a phrasebook flattens and a real conversation does not.

How the phrases are chosen

Some come from everyday English we hear on video and want a Korean equivalent for. Others are the phrases people search for constantly — thank you, I love you, how much is it — where most of the answers online are technically right and practically useless, because they skip who you are allowed to say it to.

A note on the audio

Korean audio on this site is produced with a licensed Korean speech model rather than recorded by a voice actor, which is why every single line has audio instead of just the headline phrase. Pronunciation is checked against the written form before it goes up.

Corrections

Korean is full of judgement calls about tone and register, and we get some of them wrong. If a phrase reads oddly to you as a native speaker, tell us and it gets fixed.
